And earlier this week, we launched WorkLab, a digital publication devoted to illuminating the future of work, grounded in research and the lessons of the pandemic a year in. We also published a Remote teamwork guide to share how you can enable your people to be productive and secure from anywhere with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams. And from experiences that make it easier for everyone to engage in large meetings to partnerships that enable frontline workers, my team and I are committed to helping our customers use technology to unleash the power of their people.īefore I get to this month’s product news, I want to point out some new resources that support this effort. To assign a breakout room manager to all breakout rooms, first make sure they are a presenter in the Teams meeting settings. If this year has taught business leaders anything, it’s that people make all the difference. The meeting organiser can assign breakout room managers to help manage participants and rooms while in the meeting. External users cannot manage breakout rooms they need to join the team and change their role to Presenter. To create breakout rooms, you must be the meeting organiser or a presenter who has been appointed a breakout room manager. Since Microsoft released their breakout room functionality, a few changes and additional features have been added to make the creation and management of Breakout rooms easier.

They allow the participants to meet in smaller groups and are completely isolated in terms of audio and video from the main session. Breakout rooms are sessions that are split off from the main Teams meeting. Breakout rooms can be helpful for collaboration and discussion of the meeting.
